Difference between psychology & sociology?

Psychology: phenomenological and scientific study of mental processes and behavior

Sociology: scientific or systematic study of society, including patterns of social relations, social stratification, social interaction, and culture

Those are just dictionary definitions. They sound the same to me. Can someone tell me, in english, what the difference is?

  1. I most certainly know very little about anything , but it sounds like

    Observing,  and studying an individual as apposed to observing a group.  


  2. psychology is the study of how a person thinks and acts.

    sociology is the study of how groups of people think and act together.

  3. Psychology is about 1 person, Sociology is about societies or groups of people. Easy!

  4. psychology mean the mental process as u said how a person think and feel

    sociology is how ppl' act and behave in a specific situation according to their culture and social interaction
