  1. "had" doesn't belong in there - it makes no sense. "As never before seen" means something which has never been seen before.

    If you wanted to make it past tense it would have to be "As had never before been seen"


  2. The second sentence is grammatically incorrect as you are using to different tenses. Imperfect and Past. But either way the sentence is unwieldy.  You might want to think about changing the sentence entirely as it is quite hard to comprehend.

  3. "As never before seen" means it hasn't been seen before and is present tense. But "As had never before seen" doesn't make sense...but if you make it "As had never before been seen" (I added a been) then it means the same thing, except it's past tense.
