there are so many types of ubunu. what is the best??

  1. The Ubuntu Live CD is a way to try out Ubuntu before you install it. The Ubuntu Live CD is the primary way of installing Ubuntu on your computer. I think you mean the different kinds of Ubuntu, e.g. Ubuntu, Ubuntu 64-bit, Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Gobuntu, Edubuntu, Ubuntu Studio.


  2. Basically the Ubuntu LiveCD, as any LiveCD distro, runs the OS through loading itself on your RAM. It requires no installation or formatting whatsoever; it does not change your hard drive in anyway. It's a good way of testing an OS without the pain if something doesn't go the way you like.

    The other one is the normal installer.
