What is the significance that the electron gas pressure for silver is very much larger than the typical value of molecular gas pressure?

  1. Give us some numbers, then.

    Addendum:

I've just done a crude back-of-the-envelope calculation (literally!) using the simple kinetic theory equation for the pressure of an ideal gas.  At room temperature the electron gas pressure came out at about 3*10^9 Pa.  Compare this with sea level air pressure at normal temperatures of about 10^5 Pa.  Wow, some 30,000 times bigger! Don't know what the significance of this is, though.
