Difference quotient with f(x) as (1/(x+1))?

i reduced it to ((x+h-1)/(x+1))/h

is this the result of

[f(x+h) - f(x)] / h? .. . . then

[f(x+h) - f(x)] / h = [1/(x+h + 1) - 1/(x+1)] / h

= [(x + 1) - (x + h + 1)] / [(x + h + 1) (x + 1) h]

= -1/ [(x + h + 1) (x + 1)]
