What are the differences between UK and US betting odds?

Say horseracing:

1."Fast Betty__"          UK   1.25     US  5/4

2."Crawford___"         UK    3.5       US  7/2

3."Lovely_____"          UK    5.5      US  11/2

4."Derry City__"           UK    6.0       US   6/1

as you can see,UK is making the calculation in US odds.UK is a little better,because it can help you calculate easier.The US system is based on the logic that if you play many facts,and start multiplying the odds, there may be simplifications (e.g. 5/2 * 11/5 = 11/2.) But i think it's not practical...

The "Master of Puppets" is correct.  The UK or European version of the odds are expressed as a decimal, in the American version they are displayed as a fraction.  It's the same thing...just different. :)  If you wager online, most sites offer displays in either method depending on your personal preference.
