Differences between stereo audio cable and optical cable....?

For example, I have a ps3. What difference will it make if i connected my PS3 to my surround sound system via stereo rather than via optical cable? thanks

  1. audio is for sound stereo for picture cable is channels and optical cable is so you can see whats behind closed doors like your a secret agent.


  2. Stereo is well stereo, two channel. Plus transmission is analog.

    Optical allows for digital transmission and supports up to 5.1 channels (through Dolby Digital or DTS).

    So, if you have a surround system, I would recommend using optical.
