  2. In my limited experience with Canadians, I would say that they trust their government, they give their elected officials the benefit of the doubt.  Whereas, we Americans are distrustful and cynical of our government and our elected leaders.  

    Also Canadians seem to have accepted and embraced the idea of socialized "grand government" bureaucracies (socialized medicine, public welfare, etc.)  Americans have not accepted these socialize systems.  And we do not trust people who are on the public dole.
