Question:

Differences on Canon EF 70-300mm Camera Lens sizes ?

I was thinking about getting the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Telephoto Zoom Lens or the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 ( DO ) IS USM Telephoto Zoom Lens. There quite a bit alike. I was wondering if someone could post a picture of the 2 lenses next to a camera or someone holding it to give me a better understanding of the size difference. If the lens without DO is a lot longer, i'll probably buy the one with DO. thank you

  1. The DO makes the lens quite a bit smaller. I don't have a photo comparison but the max length of the non-DO is 14.2cm (5.6in) and the max length of the DO is 9.9cm (3.9in). Keep in mind though that the DO lens is twice the price of the non-DO ($1200 vs $600).
