Question:

Different Audio Outputs from one computer?

I am wondering if there is a way to play two separate songs through separate outputs on one computer.

I play a lot of music at small parties and such through my computer. I use iTunes primarily but am opened to new software. Sometimes before I add a song to the current playlist that is playing, I like to listen to it to make sure it is the right song I was thinking about. But obviously if I select the song, it will play through the speakers...

If there is a way to play SONG "A" through one output, say the speakers that everyone hears and SONG "B" through my headphones at the same time...

I don't have much of a sound card but can get one if needed. My laptop has two headphone jacks. I've also thought about using USB headphones. I dont care too much about the quality of the headphone output. It's just to check the song...

Any kind of hardware or software solutions are great. And prefer to keep it as cheap as possible...

THANKS in advance

  1. There is DJ'ing software available that will allow that.  The one I used to use is called SAM.  Google it.
