Hi I am an American staying over in Ireland visitng my relatives. In one weeks time I will be flying to Cape Town in South Africa and I will be stopping over in London before continuing on.

However my uncle has told me that because of "diplomatic relations" US citizens have to follow a different "boarding procedure" which means it make take me longer to board the plane.

Is this true ?

Thanks

  1. Not at all.

The only difference is between having an EU passport and any other. It's just different lines, and that's only if you have to go through immigration.

I'm American; I fly to and from London every other month for business and I have yet to experience any type of discrimination.

  2. Americans should stay in a America as we dont like them

  3. I am British, my wife is a US National.  We have never found any difference in boarding procedures in any airport whether in the UK or anywhere else.  I think you will find that your uncle is misinformed.

  4. Never heard of that
