Question:

Different diameter in my contact lenses?

The current contacts i wear have a 14.5 diameter however they feel like they dont fit correctly. The only reason the doctor perscribed this kind is because they are the only colored ones they carry.

Since he decided the diameter on what kind i wanted i feel like it is not correct. i have however worn them for 2 years + and can not go to see the doctor again because it is not covered by my health insurence.

The contacts i want to get now are clear though and the diameter is 14. if they call to verify my perscription will there be problems?

  1. There most likely will be a problem, yes.

They won't approve a different lens on you without having even trialed it on you. And if your prescription is over 1 year old, you have to start all over again anyway, with a new exam.

It isn't likely  that the diameter was making much difference, it's the base curve and material of the lenses that affect the fit much more.

You can't just decide what new lenses you want to order, they have to be prescribed to begin with by the Dr.
