I'm getting registered to become an LPN next year and wanted to know different job opportunities (i.e. burn unit, old folks' homes, etc.) and if you enjoyed them. Thanks!

  1. Brave soul. My mom has been an LPN for 15 years so I'll answer based on her experience. If you want good training work in a hospital. The pay scale is lower but you will get more experience that will make you a better nurse. If you're more interested in money then go to a facility either a nursing home or rehabilitation center. Most are pretty chaotic so check them out first. My mom enjoyed hospital work better than facility work but it may be different for you. Hope that helps and congrats I have a ton of respect for nurses.

  2. Congratulations!  Don't forget about the education sector.  With some good experience you may become a great educator to those seeking an LPN or some health education.

  3. you should definitely check out PureMedicalJobs.com to give you different ways an RN can work and different career paths
