Different program for my built in camera?

my sony vaio has a built in camera and i dont like the program it uses. it uses this stupid "vaio caputre utility" thing. is there a wy i can make movies or take pictures in a diffrent program and if so what program do i use?

Try to open Windows Movie Maker (as part of any Windows installation). It does have video capture feature there and it should work with built-in webcamera (it does work on my HP laptop).

Alternatively, ANY video / DVD editing software such as Ulead Video Studio or Nero Vision do have capturing subroutines as well and they do work with "any" video source - just select from pull-down menu as "source" your webcam. You can than edit it and save in any format those programs supports.
