  1. my likes : i love how they get to do 3 day eventing because it keeps them in shape and active. for hunter/jumper... i like it because u feel the rush just watching them. as for dressage... i like that because even if your not the one riding it... you still feel like your gliding with them.. it seems so elegant and so smoothe and easy.. for show jumpers.. i like them because they amaze me everytime.. .cant believe what they do... what do i dislike about all of these? IM JEALOUS that ppl get to do it more then me lol!!

ADD ON*** im with that twilight gurl too..thumbs up to that!

  2. I love all types!

  3. 1. Three day eventing can be tough on the horse and rider mentally, physically, and emotionally, it just takes time and practice to be fully ready, no problem there.

    2. Hunter/Jumpers keep their horses awfully thin!

    3. Dressage is difficult and I don't have any problem with it, it looks nice sometimes, but I'm sure it's harder work than some.

    4. Show Jumping can be very dangerous, you must completely trust the horse and some ppl can't do that for whatever reason. I have no problem with it, it's sometimes fun to watch on TV

    5. (What I do) Saddle Seat Pleasure and Equitation. It's hard work learning the gaits sometimes and what motions to put with what gaits with your body, but you really form a bond and I believe thats what is important. It's a beautiful sport and the showing is a ton of fun too!

  4. I can lump it all into one, without limiting to those disciplines...it goes the same all the way across the board.

I dislike people who abuse and neglect their horses, and people whose horses are merely a means to an end.  People who cheat.  People who think their horse is better just because it was expensive and people who, out of jealousy, make snide remarks about a horse's performance just because it was expensive.  People who become diehard followers of whatever flavor of the week trainer is popular, and everyone else is abusive in their minds.

Spoiled brats, regardless of their age.

Other than that I pretty much like everyone else, regardless of discipline, across the board.

  5. Questions like this only serve to drive a wedge between people of different disciplines, and further promote stereotypes.

How can you like and dislike things about EVERY rider in each of those disciplines?  What about the people who do more than one?  Here's my answer for all 5 categories:  I like that they like horses.  I dislike that unfortunately a certain amount of them in each category are idiots.

  6. 1) I think ti's great. I do believe the cross country is a bit dangerous though.

    2) I ride it, I adore it. I do believe it is a bit high end though,a nd it is all about looks. It doesn't matter talent any more, it matters who has the most expensive horse.

    3) Same with Hunter/Jumper, It is a bit more high end. I think it's amazing to watch though, I low how the rider says invisible with his/her aids.

    4) Fun sport to watch. :] I love the speed of it, how bright the jumps are, everything.

    5) Define other? I think most riding is great.

  7. Nothing at all we all have the same wanting and that is to compete and come out the best or just have fun with our friends and horses. I think we all have the same in everything. Because disliking someone because they do a different event from me is so high school. I dont disrespect I respect people and what they choose to do in there lives and with there horses.

So I like how we are all horse loving people and take our horses and our heart to the extreme to prove that love :)

  8. I have unlimited respect for 3 day eventers (and x-country riders-that takes a lot of guts in my opinion). To be able to master 3 main english disciplines takes a lot to dedication and hard work.

I ride hunter/jumper and love every minuet of it. enough said.

Dressage is a beautiful discipline to watch that emphasizes the basic training all horses and riders should know. Again, there is a lot of hard work and teamwork between horse and rider.

Basically, if you ride, and treat your horse well, i respect you, no matter what discipline you ride. I think riders could learn a lot by watching different disciplines.

The only discipline i can not stand is western pleasure. I honestly don't see the point it trotting around the area at 2mph with your horses nose in the ground, wearing sparkly spandex(the rider, not the horse). The riders showy attire detracts from the horses performance, even though they really aren't doing too much in the first place. I don't know, maybe the sparkles keep the audience awake. sorry if i offended anyone, this is all just my opinion.

  9. ah, another western vs. english thing again. dont say youre not trying to do this, but if you werent, why would you be asking it? i ride english, and i know everyone thinks english riders are snobs, (which i dont know why) so shut up!! does it matter.

  10. well before i answer for each. . . every person is different, there's good and not so great people in each area mentioned.

    1. crazy good at what they do, they have to be, it takes years to get that good. my one trainer was one, but thats as close as a got to a pro.

2/4 about the same for me considering i never really knew many.

    3. stuck up to a point, but really good at riding... very prof attitudes over all.

    5.other:

western/barrles... they're fun to be around if you have friends that do it, if not they can be mean. (just from personal experence, i had a barrel racer girl run her horse into mine as i tried to leave the ring) not all are that way, that's why i say most are fun/friendly when you get to know em.

trail... fun, funny, crude, too much fun to pass up going out with them.

endurance... they seem determinded and pratcial riders, i want to try training for this, so i hope to find out more bout people who do endurance rides.

dont take offence to these, like i said to start with, there are good and not so good people in each riding. . . it just depends on each person.'

could someone please explain why people make such a fuss over english and western??? i dont get it for some reason, i didnt think that there'd be this much bad feelings on either side, i just thought it was a nice question, guess i was wrong..idk. i rode english and western. . . so why do riders draw such a BIG line in the sand??

  11. 3 day eventing: three day eventing is wikked fun! i do it with my pony and we love it. i especially like how eventers have to condition their horses. and the horses and riders must be versitile to be able to handle 3 disciplines. not to mention that cross counrty is the best thing on earth! i feel soo free when im in a nice long galloping stretch, and i love the feeling of accomplishment i feel, even when im on course, when i can get my pony through a tricky combo. eventing= lifee <333

hunter/jumper: i perosnally hate h/j riders. its not just that they are afriad to leave the ring (which they are), but its how they treat other people and their horses. my barn went to a h/j show last month and they were very unforgiving, a little 8 year old wanted to do the 18 with her first pony (not an easy pony either) and the jumps were all maxxed out with rolltops and everything. and they wouldnt let her cross enter into a cross rails division! i think its stuypid how they are so unwelcoming in the h/j world.

dressage: dressage is a necessary evil. i am only 15 so i dont like doing it much, although i do like it better now. but my thought on it is, that its only fun at the higher levels when you get to do cool stuff. other than that, it is something that every eventer must go through. and it is good for your horse to be worked in the correct frame.

show jumping: sj is super fun! not as fun a cross counrty, but you get to wear polos :]. i looove going obnoxiously fast so show jumping is wikked fun.  i have a lot of moments when im going through my course that i feel conencted to my pony, like when i ask him to jump the fence at an angle after a sharp turn and he know what im trying to do... or when we fly through a hard tripple combo, and every stride is perfect. fun times :]

5: others, pleasure=boring as h**l, western= kinda fun but not my thing, endurance= no oppinion as i've never done it. racing= abusive and hurtful DO NOT SUPPORT IT!!!!!

  12. I ride Western. & I like ALL horse people!! You should not put them in different categories???!!!!! We are ALL the same!!!! Why are you trying to stir up trouble?????? Grow up!!!!

  13. 1. I love three day eventing because when I go to those shows, I see and recognize friendly people. I once broke my show bridle and someone who I was riding against let me borrow theirs. I returned the favor later when their girth broke. They know EVERYTHING about their horses (not that the other disciplines don't, eventers are just better known for horse-sense and knowledge). Don't like how it's always about how well trained a horse is compared to the others (7 years old riding $70,000 horses to only get 1st place, etc).

    2. Hunter/Jumpers make it look easy. VERY competitive and I love the speed of jumpers and ease of hunters. I don't like how they hold grudges if you beat them.

    3. Dressage.. Well! I love dressage! Very easy on the eyes - horses are beautiful. Grace, precision and power all in one. I dislike how they too hold grudges if you beat them, and rarely ever get to talk to someone I'm riding against.

    4. Show jumping.. that's the same as hunter/jumper! :P  Love the speed, lack of need of having to look "perfect". Dislike the grudges, and how often the horses can get too skinny :(

    5. Others.. Western? I haven't been to a western-only horse show yet, but I love how friendly they are, how the horses are ALWAYS beautiful - despite color or breed. Dislike.. well, as far as I know, nothing! :)  All the western people I know are really nice, friendly, easy-going riders. <3

  14. iv never been around jumping people no efence to plesures people i think mojority are stuck up little prisses who dont know the *** to the head of the horse and there rude now that dont mean all of them but mojorty then there going to tell you, you are rong because your a barrel racer and you dont have name brand equpt, thats how they are up her now iam a gamere and half the gamers will run you rite over cuz the only time they now there horses is at a show but minorty are like that you know dont mean to get any one pissed off
