Different types of protein from natural food?

Okay from what i know there is whey and casien whey being fast and casien being slowly obsorbed but what about meat like turkey what kinda protein is there fast or slow obsorbing? chicken, shrimp, peanut butter? like what foods are fast obsorbing what are slow how long does it take for the fast and slow foods to get to the muscles and how long do they keep the muscles going

  1. Whey protein isolate is absorbed quickly because it is synthesised. All of the natural sources of protein have to be digested first... the fibre separated etc.

    You deplete your proteins and carbs when you exercise. That's why the pre-workout and post workout formulas are effective. I use a Whey protein isolate before and after training... and I use a casien based supplement before bed and upon rising. During the day I eat 5- 6 meals.. I never take carbs without some protien component as well... that's where the chicken, turkey nuts, beans etc comes in. They are all slow to deliver up the goods becuase you have to digest them.. break them down into their elements.


  2. In the first place proteins aren't absorbed whole during digestion, they have to be hydrolyzed into amino acids before they can be absorbed.  Second, if a protein is resistant to hydrolysis it just won't get absorbed and will end up feeding the bacteria in your gut.  The whole matter of protein metabolism is really complex and a good answer to your question isn't possible here.
