Different types of water and which is best for plants?

I'm doing a science project and i'm already growing plants with different types of water (grey water, tap water, bottled, pond and rain water). I need background information about these different types of water from reliable sources (so stuff like whats in the water, how does it effect plants etc ... please help if you can =)
