Question:

Different ways of holding hands

Not sure this is the right category, but anyway; some people say that hold hands different ways sends a different message and may, or may not, be appropriate in certain circumstances. Basically the theory goes that interlocking fingers is a sign of intimacy that should (amongst adults) be reserved for one's spouse/bf/gf. So, is it true?

  1. however you are most comfortable. my husband and i both wear a ring on each hand in addition to our wedding rings, and if we try to hold hands with interlocking fingers, someone's finger gets jammed, so we usually go with non interlocking. it doesn't mean we are less intimate

  2. While I agree that different ways of holding hands send different messages and that interlocking fingers is a sign of intimacy, I disagree that such a way of holding hands should be reserved only for one's spouse/bf/gf.  Intimacy can be, but is not limited to, a sexual relationship.

  3. hmm, yeah i agree with everyone else.

  4. I'm sure it depends on your cultural region. As far as I am concerned though I think interlooking fingers should be for a spouse/bf/gf or at least if not technically "bf" or ""gf" then at least someone you are "talking" to or flirting with. I would not for instance under any circumstances interlook fingers if I held hands with my best friends (girls) or casual guy friends. That could send the wrong message, espically I think to the guys.
