  1. An excellent cut of steak is to be eaten rare accompanied by Cabernet sauvignon.

  2. Rare- pink throughout and may even be red in center

    Medium rare- very pink throughout

    Meduim- a little pink, much pinker in center

    Medium well- little bit of pink in middle

    Well done- no pink- cooked throughout.

  3. Well=cooked throughout, brown

    Med well=slight pink

    Medium= pink throughout with a hot red center

    Medium Rare=warm red throughout

    Rare=cool red throughout

  4. Hi.  You can get....

    Rare = obviously heated up....but extremely red

    Medium Rare = still lots of red

    Medium = brown on outside but some red on the inside

    Medium Well = good all the way through - no red

    Well Done = really cooked.

  5. rare=you can still hear it moooo

    medium rare=nice and bloody

    medium=pink in the inside

    medium well=thin line of pink

    well done=cooked to taste like rubber

  6. rare, medium rare. Rare is red, and medium rare is kinda red. the best is medium rare

  7. I'm going to have to agree with Truth!  But if you want a little more cooked go with medium or meduim rare.  A well done steak loses most of the flavor of the meat and you're just tasting the seasoning and probably way too much steak sauce.

  8. Rare= cool red center

    Medium rare= warm red center

    Medium= Pink with a touch of red

    Medium well= brown with some pink

    Well= all brown, no pink

  9. Also add to the list "black and blue" also known as "pittsburgh style". It's put on a VERY hot pan, while the steak itself is still cold, and cooked for only a minute or two per side. The desired effect is that the outside of the steak is crisp and almost burned, but the center is still raw and cool.

    That's about how i prefer a good cut. I like the flavors of the carmelization that comes from the good sear on the outside, but you can't beat the flavor of good rare beef.

    As far as I'm concerned, if you're gonna order a steak well done, you might as well just order a hamburger. It defeats the purpose.
