Different ways to insulate the home?

Question

I need to find out for science some different ways of insulating the home. I have thought of already- cavity wall insulation, double glazing, draught excluders...

pipe insulation i.e. covering hot water pipes with insulation to retain heat , loft insulation ( blanket type fibreglass  loose fill  )  wallpaper even to choose a heavy blown vinyl to keep heat in

A few suggestions:

Reflective foil placed behind radiators to stop heat escaping into wall

Loft insulation

Thick curtains

Door seals

Thick carpets and underfloor insulation

storage heaters, and oil filled  radiators, fan heaters, underfloor

heating, laminate flooring, carpet,

Loft insulation, (between joists, and foam blocks between rafters). Floor insulation (foam sheet under chipboard, or insulating quilt under suspended floors). Reflective foil or foam sheet behind radiators.

I am a carpenter and in all the houses I build i either use fiberglass insulation or I get a professional spray foam company to spray foam the whole house ceiling and all.  This seems to be the most efficient for us and it is faster and easier to use because you do not have a use any polly on your house anywhere.  Very good stuff!  Hope this helps!
