  1. Dear,

          transesterification is a chemical reaction in which an alcohal like methanol reacts with triglycerides in presence of a basic catalyst like NaOH etc.In esterification the same reaction is done in presence of an acid catalyst like sulphuric acid.


  2. Esterification is the reaction of an acid with an alcohol to form an ester.  Transesterification is the reaction of an ester with an alcohol to form a different ester and a different alcohol.
