  1. producer - produces its own food for its own consumption

consumer - eats food from producers

decomposers - breaks down organic substances from a dead material

  2. producers produce their own food. they are also called autotrophs.

    ex. plants, some planktons

consumers eat producers or other consumers for their energy.

    ex. humans, herbivores, carnivores, omnivores

decomposers get energy from decomposing organic matter.

    ex. fungi, bacteria

  3. producers- from the word "produce".. they produce their own food

consumers- are the one eating the producers.. form the word "consume" they are classified into 2 groups... 1st consumer 2nd consumer and  3rd consumer ...  the 3rd consumer gets the least amount of energy,..

10% is passed on to the 1st consumer...

decomposers are the one decaying dead stuff... they are the last in the food chain.. and that they make the soil fertile...^^

  4. producers are the ones who produces their own foods (e.g. planktons)

the consumers are the ones who eat producers. they are usually the second part of the food chain.

decomposers are the one who decomposes consumers (bacteria etc..)
