Show that y=sinkθ satisfies the differential equation,

d²y/dθ² + k²y = 0

  1. G'day Mate,

    y(x) = sin(kx)

    dy/dx =kcos(kx)

    d2y/dx2 = -k^2sin(kx)

                =-k^2y(x)

    Thus

    d2y/dx2 + k^2y(x) = 0
