(I just started today) I ordered generic differin from overseas because its cheaper...i have the gel .1% but when i use it it doesnt burn or peel..the reason i say this is because i notice alot of ppl say this stuff burns and peels for months then stops...since its not for me does this mean that its not strong enough or its not working

  1. u need to wash your face with water then a benzoyl peroxide wash before you use it for it to be effective

look for the wash at your local walgreens or rite-aid

  2. as long as it says it has a .1% concentration of adalpalene, it is the same thing as brand-name differin. you don't need to wash your face with a benzoyl peroxide wash like the guy above me says, but do wash your face with a gentle cleanser (i don't mean regular soap...use clearasil or oxy face wash) before putting it on. these people probably used too much, so use only a tiny, less-than pea-sized amount on your entire face 1-2 times a day...don't overdo it. you silly goose, you should be happy that it doesn't burn you...only a smallish percentage of people actually experience any adverse side effects. I didn't ever have burning, but i did get mildly oily skin, which i got rid of with a moisturizer and a salycylic acid scrub. and also, it takes more than one day for any medicine to start working or for you to start having side effects, if any. remember, this is a medicine that is supposed to HELP you, not hurt you.
