Have u seen ur TV cable wire/lead closely? It is called co-axial wire.In this wire there is a simple metallic wire surrounded with another wire which is in the form of mesh.That mesh wire is called as Shield wire.

n WiFi doesn't include any wires.Its a wireless application in which electro-magnetic wave r transferred from one media to another.U must have seen internet running on laptops without any wires.That is WiFi application.

coaxial cable is a wired way of communication where as WIFI is a wireless mode which is used for networking and communication .

in coaxial cable the metal covering is done on the main wire inside it with the plastic coating .

and wireless uses the radio waves for the data exchange or communication .

Since both were of different types I think you may easily understand.

coaxial cable will not offer mobility but wifi offers it and hence it is used in mobile phones as GPRS connection.

with the help of coaxial cable both lan,man and wan can be connected through large areas but wifi will offer only upto 10 metres but it may offer large areas using hotspots.

In general coaxial cable is termed for wired internet connection and wifi for wireless internet connection.
