Difficult but possible: Wenger
The long serving manager of the north London giants has claimed that Arsenal’s round-of-16 match against Barcelona in the Champions league is ‘difficult but possible’.
Arsene Wenger said: "My reaction is very simple - difficult but possible. I didn't want anybody really, in that all teams would have been difficult. You could have said that Schalke - a team with less history in the Champions League - would have been easier
maybe. But the advantage is that we will be on our toes and we'll be ready."
Arsenal finished second, two points short of group leaders Shakhtar Donetsk in Group G of the UEFA Champions League. Arsenal was the only English team to finish second in their Group as other English teams; Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Manchester United
finished top of their respective groups. The Gunners were drawn against the Spanish Giants Barcelona last Friday night. The first leg of Arsenal vs Barcelona will be played on February 16th at Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal are currently placed second in Barclays Premier League with 32 points to their name out of 17 league games. The Gunners are only two points less than Barclays Premier League leaders Manchester United.

Arsenal’s away form in the Premier League is very impressive as they have managed five away victories more than any other team in Barclays Premier League.
Furthermore, Arsenal are the one of the three Premier League teams who are through to the semi-finals of the Carling Cup and are favourites to win this tournament. The other two teams of Premier League are West Ham United and Birmingham City. Arsene Wenger
and his men will play Ipswich Town in the double-legged semi-final of Carling Cup on 12th February 2010.
Arsenal were drawn against Leeds United in the FA Cup and this match will also be played at Emirates Stadium on 8th January 2010.
