  2. Lots

we haven't found them all yet - and probably never will...

  3. If you ponder the "luminosity function" for stars, you'll notice that dim stars are much more abundant than bright stars are. To get an accurate picture, you have to limit the distance to how far you can see the dimmest stars. Now extrapolate that idea below the mass of the least massive star. Brown dwarfs are probably more common than M type main sequence stars. Planets are probably more common than brown dwarfs. And so on. The littler a kind of thing is, the more of them there probably are. So I expect that there are several trillion planets in the galaxy - lumps of more or less nonluminous mass in the range of 0.001 to 1000 Earth masses.

  4. Estimates range from 200 billion to 400 billion stars so if every starin our galaxy had an average of 5 planets that would be.....get out your calculator! Also keep in mind that there are as many galaxies in the universe as there are grains of sand on the Earth.

  8. There are countless planets in the entire universe. It is also very possible that somewhere out there, there is a bigger planet compared to our planets in the solar system. There are actually more than eight planets in the solar system. Those are the minor planets. Pluto is just considered as a minor planet and there are others too. So probably we have a lot of planets in our solar system. What more outside the solar system.
