doing push-ups? This has never happened to me until today. My hands become numb and almost stiff. Now, this has only happen to me in two other types of situations.

1. When I become really upset (crying).

2. When I take albuterol for my asthma. I don't really have asthma any more. But when I do, and after I have taken the medicine, my fingers would become stiff.

Now, for the exercising, it is a bit different. The reason is that the fingers do not become COMPLETELY stiff, unlike the other two. But still, is there anything wrong with me?

  1. Most likely it's because of a lack of bloodflow, or you might have been restricting a nerve.

If the problem persists, it can be a medical condition such as diabetes, or a circulation problem, either way if you are seriously concerned, call your doctor.

  2. The reason your fingers become numb or stiff during exercising is a lot easier to explain than the chemical reasons that occur during the administration of medicine or an emotional exchange.  Mine become numb after extended use of my bicycle.  It's simply your hands being in a set position for long periods of time...long enough to prohibit sufficient bloodflow.  Try changing up your 'stance' every set...this will also alter the angle at which your muscles work making doing pushups just that much more efficient at building strength in the pectorals and triceps.

  3. This happened to my dad, exept it also happened in his feet.

That is a sign of diabetes and he found out that he had diabetes.

You should go to the doctor and see what they think.

    Hope i helped =)
