Digging a fish pond /lake?

i was wondering i live in ohio and there are alot of pay lakes here for catfish i am just curious about how much would it cost to digg a pond/ about 2-3 acres and how deep would it be if the land was suitable for holding water

Call your local Soil and Water Conservation office and see what they have to say. My father-in-law had a nice tank dug a few years ago and the county or state , not sure which, paid for half the cost of digging it. I'm not sure exactly what the requirements were to get them to pay half, but he does keep a few head of cattle, so it may be a farm or agricultural type grant that he got. Might be worth it to check it out.
