Question:

Digital Cable - adding a 2nd TV?

I have Comcast digital on 1 TV and now I would like to add another. Comcast used the Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300HD. My question: I see these tuners for sale on Ebay and was wondering if they will work? Do they have to be programmed by Comcast?

I already pay for digital service - just want to add a 2nd TV and avoid additional monthly charges.

Thanks

  1. You cant add another tv to your box.  You can add a tv and hook up the line with a dual cable out you can get at any store.  But you cant hook the box with two tv's.

Kid under me is wrong, you can get a cable splicer that allows you to break cable signal, but you have to attach it before you hook it into the box.  The one with the box will definately get more channels and better reception but the other will get about 100 and it will look good too.

  2. Your SOL dude!  Sat has you there.  People dislike Cable but at least you can watch standard (0-100) on other sets if it's digital ready and not pay for another reciever.
