Digital Camera - Broken?

Question

Iv'e got a digital camera, and i dropped it and the screen is all cracked and its just blank. But the camera still takes pictures and works normally. You just cant see what your taking. The guarentee on it wouldnt cover it because i dropped it. Where can i get it fixed and how much do you think it would be?

check around your area, theres might be some store or company that are willing to replace it. Or contact the camera brand company. Normally screen replacement is arrange around 100-$200

If you paid for it with a credit card, it might still be insured.

In general, unless it is a VERY expensive digital, it is probably not worth while repairing.  It will be expensive and new camera prices are dropping.  If it has a viewfinder, just use that.

Try the local Electrical stores...  Comet, Currys

as most will repair Digital Camera's even if you've not purchased from there.

Also give... Jessops.. a try as they have a repair service in store for cameras  Its could cost anything up to £100 depending on size of LCD screen

A alternative and cheaper option would be to look in your local 'Yellow Pages' under 'electrical repair shops'  or try the 'on-line repair' stores

If its a compact DC use the 'wrist strap',  in future, which comes supplied

Don't bother.

Unless it cost more that two hundred and is less then a couple of months old, don't bother.

For a little more than the price of the repair you can buy a better new one.....

If its too costly to fix, just leave it the way it is. The screen is only a monitor besides the cameras information is still visible in the viewfinder.
