Question:

Digital Camera-Memory Card Error

by  |  earlier

Every time I place the memory card in the digital camera, it reads "Memory Card Error." It will not allow me to view my pictures, or take new ones.

Every time I connect it to my computer, it appears to be loading slowly... but it never opens. There seems to be an error, and the program is "not responding."

How do I fix it?

...I think it has to do with the fact that when I connected the memory crd to the computer, I changed the pictures. As in, I rotated them. When I slipped the memory card back in the camera, the pictures appeared as question marks. I think that's what have messed up the memory card.

  1. Memory cards can and do fail. Yours may have simply died.

Before you throw it out, try to find the "format card" function in your camera settings. Formatting removes all information (including errors) from a card, and should be done regularly to avoid problems.

It is not the same as simply deleting photos.

If you can't figure out how to do in-camera, try to format it via a card reader from your computer.
