I have a Fujifilm A345 Digital Camera that will not save or print pictures with the date stamp. It shows in the camera's display when reviewing the pictures taken. I have tried to go: "Menu > DPOF > With Date" but when displayed on the PC there's no stamp. Any help appreciated.

  1. Check if there is a date stamp menu option (in the camera mode's menus). That's the one you want. The DPOF will only print the date when you use DPOF direct printer connection.

Note: not all (actually very few) camera's even have that feature now. This is because the processing takes time and people complain that they didn't want and now it's too late to undo it. Note that the camera stores the date and time in the file (as last modifed or date created) and embeds it into the photo by EXIf (almong with other info).

To view this data, find the file, right click, select properties. Summary tab. Advanced and viola all the info you could ever want. there is software out there that will automatically read and imprint the date onto the photos (some if free). Myself, I've been using VPTS time stamp for a while ($10) but it works well. Be aware that with JPG images, every time you edit or change them you lose a bit more of the quality.
