Question:

Digital OPK Test, false positives?

I am confused. I seem to receive a positive OPK result every week lately! I started using the clear-blue digital easy ovulation test at the beginning of this month. On July 4th I received a positive result. Then negatives. Then on July 13th I received another positive result, then negatives. Then today I received another positive result. What does this mean? I took a pregnancy test yesterday and BFN. I have not had my period since May because I got off the pill so my cycles are out of whack but why would I receive so many positives in one month?

  1. It sounds like your body is getting ready to ovulate, and trying, but isn't. I think your body is trying to regulate itself after coming off the pill. It may take some time for it to flush out of your system. On average, it takes 1-3 months, but for some women it may take longer. Coming off the pill is probably the reason you're not ovulating yet. I would mention this to your Dr. if you don't ovulate shortly. Good luck to you, and lots of baby dust :)

  2. I am a memeber of www.fertilityfriend.com and they say that when you get more than one positive per month, that means that you are probably having an anovulatory cycle.  So, you more than likely won't ovulate this month, but I would still keep BDing just in case.  Good luck!
