What one should look for while buying a point-and-shoot digital camera? If possible, please suggest a good entry level to intermediate level digital camera for about $250. Thank you.

  1. I always recommend looking at sensor size.  Most compact digital cameras have a tiny 1/2.5" sensor.  This reallly hurts their performance in low light.  There are a few compact digital cameras like the Fujifilm Finepix F100fd with a larger sensor.  The tradeoff is that you'll be lucky to get 5X optical zoom.
