Question:

Digital Stream DTX9900 Digital Convertor Box---bad sound quality...how to fix?

I recently bought a Digital Stream DTX9900 convertor box to allow my TV to pick up the digital signal.

The picture is fantastic for the channels I get but many times the sound quality is annoying. About half the time the audio has a high pitched pulse of sorts that streams with the sound. Kind of like a cricket. I have the Digital Stream hooked up with R/L audio hookups. (Not sure of the official term.) Any idea of how to get the sound corrected?

  1. Sounds like a possible ground loop from your AC power. I'd recommend a surge suppressor with line filter. You can pick one up for 40-60 dollars at any major electronic store. If that does not fix it then return it, it might be a defective cable box or you might need to call an electrician.
