  1. Broadcast TV means over the air TV, aka antenna TV, aka terrestrial TV. Nickelodeon and Disney are cable channels, for which you need cable service.

Only people who get their TV solely with an antenna need to get converter boxes to keep their analog TVs functioning when broadcast switched to digital.

  2. You will have on screen program guides, and some new channels but not any"cable" channels.

Some new ones will be additional PBS 3 more to be exact.

If your OTA (off the air) channel for PBS is lets say 9, then the additional's  will numbered like 9.2, 9.3, 9.5.  All the channels are crystal clear, no fuzz or ghost.

Where I live in Seattle, we have 2 weather & news from CBS & FOX.

We wnt from 12 channels to 23.

It has the advantage over the  analog.

The web site will give you all the info you need to get going on DTV.

    Good Luck and Good Day!

  3. you will get the channels you already have.

nothing is changing about what channels you get or dont get, they just want you to change to digital by getting a converter box.

if you dont, you dont get any channels.
