I may consider doing away with my cable, I know that the new digital TV will be replacing analog TV (with the bunny ears antenna)..for those who have used the new digital TV how is it. Also did you get the rebate check from the government and where do you go to get the rebate check.

  1.   Thank you, Link. I was wondering about that also. I might have to use one of these with my basement TV.

  2. If you're within 50 miles or so of the TV transmitters, over-the-air (OTA) TV should work fine. It depends on the terrain in your area, like are you in a valley. There are a few websites that can help you determine what stations you can get and what type of antenna you'll need. See below.

I've used the digital converter boxes at two different locations, one 40 miles form the transmitters and the other about 65 miles. Great reception in both areas. I can personally recommend the Zenith, Insignia and DigitalStream converters. Check the website at:

    http://www.dtv2009.gov

for the converter coupon program and a list of approved devices.
