Question:

Digital TV question?

Hi there.

I am looking at purchasing a SD set top box for my HDMI plasma. At the moment we are renting and the house doesn't have an external antenna on the roof, so we are using an aerial inside next to the TV.

Would i plug the indoor aerial into the set top box to recieve the digital signal? Or does it only work with an outdoor antenna on the roof?

I'm a tad concerned that if i do buy a set top box it won't work with my current indoor aerial! I'm in Canberra Australia.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

  1. The only thing you can do is try it.  Indoor antennas can work well in strong signal areas.

Outdoor antennas are usually better.  They are larger, have more gain (pick up more signal) and are mounted above obstructions.  But, it looks like your choices are a bit limited in your situation.

    I hope this helps.

  2. indoor/outdoor doesn't make a difference in range or signal. Also, you will get local HD channels with an antenna. pretty sweet.
