Digital Transitions for Feb 2009?

hey, I'm trying to figure out some things, let see here,

I have two hdtv and two standard crt tvs. my question is, which tv's do i need those digital converters. Would my hdtv's need them, if not, will it show my channels in digital or just the same. Currently I have regular cable coming off the wall.

Only if your tv has to use antenas to get a tv signil you'll be fine.

If you have a cable or satelite provider you should not need the box at all to convert, the cable company should do it themselves.

if your hds have the tuners, dont worry about it, hd is better than digital. Your crt's may need converters depending on how old they are. All the new tvs come with the converters included along with the tv. If they are new, i doubt you have to worry about it, otherwise those would be the ones you'd need it for..

oh yea, get a really good antenna, I just got my converter, hooked it up to my c**p antenna, and it does not pick up ANY channels at all. Nada... take the antenna out and put it in the tv with the regular tuner, works fine. Digital sucks if you dont have a good antenna.

But anyways, lol, you have regular cable... you dont need anything!!! lol, the converters are for OVER THE AIR tv signals. Dont worry otherwise, its already included!

Your two HD Tv's will not need them because if they are already receiving a digital signal on non HD channels then you don't need it. The Two Crt tv's you have you will probaly have to get a tuner for that.....

If you have cable and/or satellite you do not need a converter for ANY TV. You only need a converter for TVs that receive TV over the air and don not have a digital tuner.

Which is just going to be fantastic in cases of emergency, like tornadoes or hurricanes, when the power goes out and you depend on a over-the-air black & white battery-powered TV with a telescope antenna I guess you'll be SOL.

As usual someone in the government did not see the bigger picture.
