Digital camera FRUSTRATION!!!!!!?

Ok... Im really frustrated right now so I apologise for any bad language.

I bought a Kodak C613 for Christmas this year, and I have to say it was the WORST purchase I have ever made. In the first few days I had the product, it displayed the low battery symbol constantly. Which as you can imagine is VERY annoying when you just want to take pictures of a good night out. I didnt do anything for a while thinkiig it would just go away.. but oh no. After a few months of having a "low battery" it turned off completly and wont turn on now, at all.

So anyway, I went on the costumer step by step advice website... which told me I was probably using incompatible batteries.., Paid £10 for new Kodak batteries which I just received today but they havnt helped AT ALL. still wont turn on.

Im going traveling in a few weeks so a digital camera wil be like oxygen to me. I relaly need it fixed.

PS I dont think I still have the packaging etc Am I crazy to think Kodak will still fix it?

Thanks

  1. I take it these are AA batteries? The Kodak ones you bought, are they rechargeable? If they are then they probably didn't come charged - you'll need to charge them before they work.

Unfortunately, cameras with AA batteries suck them dry pretty quickly. Your best bet for this is to make sure you're getting batteries designed to be put in digital cameras - they'll last longer. Also, you may want to consider getting two sets of rechargeables so that while you're traveling you have an extra set if your first ones dies and you're not in a situation to recharge them.

  2. Your camera is optimized for NiMH rechargeable batteries.

You will need to buy a four pack with charger to reduce your frustration level substaintially.

It is still under warranty, so worst case you will have to send it back to Kodak for repair, but basically if the camera has not been dropped or dipped in a fluid, Kodak will repair it for you.

  3. All electrical goods receive a 12 month manufacturers guarantee, contact Kodak, and tell them exactly what is wrong with it, you could even try taking it back to the store where you bought it, they may be able to refund/replace for you, or , at least send it away to be fixed, however way you go about it, dont expect quick results because it wont necessarily be a quick job.

Hope you get it sorted though

  4. The camera is still under warranty so you could return it.

But that "low battery" sign may simply indicate that the batteries were no good.

Regular AA, even the "heavy duty" will suck dry in less than 30 pics.

If you had rechargables in their did you do the initial charge, usually at least 6 and up to 16 hours to fully charge, if you did less the batteries have a "memory" that accepts that partial charge as thec most it can take, so will always run down.

How many batteries did you get for Stg10, four or two? Guess that cost included the postage so probably only two.

Sorry if this is too much info, but suspect it's down to the batteries rather than the camera itself.

  5. You have a guarantee...take it back...its faulty and it always has been.

    You have consumers rights.
