ok well yesterday i was walking and my camera slipped from my hands into a 4-5 inch puddle of water. i grabbed it out within I'd say 5 seconds I didnt relize what had happened at first then i did so i grabbed it.. well i thought it was ok.. I dried it off the best i could. and then put it in front of a fan after taking the battery and memory card out and leaving the little flap open for it to dry hopefully well this morning i put the battery in it. a light on in front lights up a bit. but other then that the camera seems dead. So i'm wondering if i take the camera to a repair shop...? could it be fixed or am i totally screwed and need to buy a new one

O btw i know i have insurance on it from best buy but i cant find the recipt for it .... ugh

  1. take it back to best buy. they can look up the purchase for you in their computer system.

  2. Sorry you dropped your camera. Now you know why that wrist strap was included - so you'd have less chance of dropping it.

I hope that the insurance through Best Buy will cover abuse caused by dropping or drowning your camera. They can look up your purchase and tell you what's covered.

Totally ignore the suggestion to "...run tap water through it..." The idea is to get it DRY - not wetter!
