I'm thinking of taking up birdwatching.

I don't have a computer, so it would have to be something easy to use that doesn't require one, like Ipods or whatever.

I haven't had a camera since high school, eons ago, and my favorite thing about that was the magic in the darkroom, so I'm probably not going to be using it a whole lot.

Also, I'm gonna need to know what little side dishes are required, like batteries, discs, whatever. I mean stuff I would need to use the camera, not stuff to make the camera do more stuff I don't need it to do.

  1. Canon makes nice little cameras for beginners.  I have an A570 Is which has video.  It is a very simple camera to operate and it only requires batteries and an SD disk. (I use 2GB so I have space for plenty of pictures and small movies if I want.

I am not sure how much inexpensive means for you.  I bought mine at Amazon.com and included some batteries.  Check them out because they are always including different things with cameras.

    Good luck!!!!

P.S.: Be very wary of used cameras.  You never know what you will get.
