Digital camera model suggestions?

I'm planning on buying one, something that I can use with various subjects. I want something handy. I like the captures of the pro digi cams with lenses but those aren't too handy. I want something I can put in my purse, bring anywhere, and shoot random pictures with great outcomes just like in the pro ones. I'm okey with any budget.
