Digital camera or video recorder?

Question

would it be a better deal to get just a digital camera, or a hand-help video recorder that can also take still pictures, but it cost $100 more?

i would say digicam because they can also take shot video, and u would look pretty pumb taking pictures with a video recorder, and the pictures wont look as good. ps digi cams are smaller and u can get a 100 dollar better camera

Digital Camera because it is lighter and you can also record, but the quality may not be as good as the video recorder.

i think you should go with a digital camera, since some of them do have pretty good quality. like you said, the video recorder costs like a lot more than the camera, but both electronics can do both things; recording videos and taking pictures. for a camera, you should either get a Canon or a Casio. i don't recommend getting a Sony; they have pretty poor quality. [x

well the digital camera, depending on the megapixels are verry good for still shots. a video recorder like my Sony DVD camera, it has a VGA camera. which is like the lowest in quality. so if you want to take pictures, get the digital camera. but if you want to take strictly videos good, get the video camera.
