So I have a kodak v550 digital camera and the most wonderful thing I love is the long exposure where I can take light art pictures. Any reccomendations on a digital camera with the long exposure?

  1. Well, the first thing that you will need is a good tripod. Really, besides a camera, this is the only thing that you need. If you're serious about night photography, look at Giottos for tripods. They're extremely high-quality tripods, and a lot less expensive than Bogen-Manfrotto.

To take longer exposures in brighter light, you'll want to set your camera in the manual mode (I'm not sure if your camera would have one of these, since it sounds like a point-and-shoot, but if it does...) turn to the smallest aperture that you have (the highest f/number) and use that to take pictures. Your camera won't take in nearly as much light, so the exposure times will be much longer.

If you're wanting recommendations for a camera for long exposures, any camera with a bulb exposure mode where the shutter will stay open as long as you hold the shutter button will do perfectly.

  2. look for SLIK tripods
