When recording on a digital camera, What is the difference between 640 x 480 and 320 x 240 pixels? I know its the size, but what else? If I use the 640 x 480 option, will my batteries run out faster than the 320 x 240 option?

  1. The resolution has nothing to do with how fast your battery energy is depleted.

The size effects the quality of the image .... just look at the difference in the high resolution image your camera can produce vs. the lowest ... then you will see for yourself.

  2. Your battery may not run out faster, but your memory card certainly will. Basically recording video at the higher resolution means you'll have less time to record until you run out of space on the memory card.
