Digital camera water damage?

Ok about 3 days ago, I went to Bush Gardens and I decided to put my digital camera in my pocket just to hold it. I went on the log flume ride with the digital camera.(Ive been on the log flume lots of time and I usually don't get that wet). Anyway when I was done with the log flume and some other water rides, I turned on my camera and it looked like what its seemed to have some water/moisture on the inside part of the screen. Thebscreen was whitened out want the water was like a black ball on the screen. Now, I was wonder if it would be a good idea to take the screws put around the screen and the frame of the camera and try to remove the moisure behind the screen? I kind of afraid to get electrocuted because I opened up the camera but what do you think I should do?

  1. Don't do that. If your warranty hasn't already ended, trying to fix the camera yourself with definitely void it. Also, as you can probably guess, the interior of a camera is very delicate and shouldn't be handled by laymen.

Unless there is a very large amount of water inside the camera (in which case you should probably be expecting problems), I would just switch it off and leave it alone for several days in a dry place to dry out by itself.

  2. Forget it. There is no way possible to repair a digital camera what ever brand it is. Send it in for an estimate.
