Digital capcitor connection

Question

what is the best technique to hook-up a capacitor to achieve its fullest ferformance? can i conect the positive and negative supply terminals of the amplifier directly to the negative and positive terminal of the capcitor togetnher with the negative and positive of the battery supply? i have a separate battery for my audio system with the help of a battery isolator so that the main battery for the engine is not going to be discharge whenever the audio system is operating.pls give me the best technique to hook-up a capacitor......... thank you so much...............
