Digital converter box for the Feb 2009 will be a difital tuner, or convert the digital signal to analog???

Kinda pretty stupid to waste the effort of simly giving us a digital signal instead of keeping a crappy picture by turning it back into analog. I've been using a digital tuner box since I bought a Vega which had a digital tuner and discovered so many free channels with perfect pictures.

no, it wont turn it into analog and yes the digital signal that it converts to will work on a non-digital ready tv.  You don't have to have a digital tv for a digital signal to work. Dishnetwork has all digital channesl and that comes in on all tvs. I've had comcast digital work on my normal tv also. Analog will simply be gone forever and thats a great thing.
